Concierge Networks Incorporated (CNI) was founded in 1993 to serve the hospitality industry through telecommunications consulting. Today CNI provides a wide range of consulting services covering Voice, Data, Network Security, Internet and more, to any industry and company size.
After the break up of AT&T in 1984, the new era of competitive telecommunications provided the hospitality industry with a new source of revenue in telephone rates and surcharges. Also a societal trend of increased reliance on communications was beginning to drag hoteliers, kicking and screaming, into providing more sophisticated telecommunication equipment and services.
Hospitality management was frequently unable to keep up with regulatory and technological advances and were often taken advantage of by vendors and outside “consultants”. These companies attempted to take hoteliers by the hand to the "promised land" of new revenue streams, but instead were getting rich at the expense of these hoteliers and their guests. Given these market conditions, by the early 1990’s, the opportunity was ripe for professionals to step in and provide true unbiased consultative services and clean up the mess that had occurred in the name of opportunity.
Into this market, CNI introduced their process for assessing the condition of telephone departments, implementing recommended changes, and providing continuous monitoring for hotel telecommunications systems based on the very latest in technological hardware and software. Because of this, CNI clients experienced dramatically improved profitability, guest services and control over their telecommunications infrastructure.
PHILCOMM, a very successful Virginia based independent consulting firm, was established in 1991 for these same reasons – professional, unbiased, independent telecommunications auditing and management.
In 1998, CNI and PHILCOMM merged operations to form what is now one of the most recognized and respected hospitality consulting organizations in the country with a client base representative of the largest hotel management companies in the world. Since the merger, CNI has experienced double-digit growth each year and continues to expand its suite of consulting services.
CNI’s expanded portfolio of consulting services covers traditional Telecommunications such as PBX’s, Voice Mail, Call Accounting, and Voice Services, and new technologies such as Data Networks, Information Security, Video Conferencing, Structured Cabling, and more. CNI’s target markets have also diversified and now cover Hospitality, Universities, MDU’s such as Apartments and Time Shares, Hospitals, New Construction and Real Estate, and Corporate Enterprise applications. CNI is also involved in technology education by authoring articles, participating in industry “think tanks” and focus groups, and presenting and participating in seminars and other educational forums.
Today, the principals and staff of CNI offer technical proficiency, marketing and management leadership, and financial expertise. CNI principals have a combined 150 years of hands-on consulting, systems implementation and industry monitoring. CNI brings together the best products and services available in the marketplace to design the right blend for specific to each client.
